The Asquith Affair
The love letters that H. H. Asquith (British Prime Minister from 1908 to 1916) wrote to the aristocratic socialite Venetia Stanley (his daughter’s best friend) inspired Katheryn’s upcoming novel. Venetia was 35 years Asquith’s junior, and his letters were full of sweet nothings and state secrets. Katheryn’s alternate history explores what might have happened had those letters been published in 1915 instead of 1982.
